About Us

Mission Statement

  • The Society of Chinese Bioscientists in America (SCBA) is a non-profit organization that was established in 1984. The Washington D.C. Chapter of SCBA was formed in 1988, and provides a platform for all ethnic Chinese bioscientists, or anyone who are interested in biological sciences, in the greater Washington D.C. area, including DC, Maryland and Virginia, to communicate and collaborate on science and more. Its goals are:

  • To promote research in biosciences.
  • To advance biological and medical knowledge.
  • To improve occupational opportunities of its members.
  • To facilitate professional networking among members.
  • To establish a spirit of fraternity and international cooperation.

The chapter organizes several academic and social activities annually:

  • Scientific symposium
  • K-T Jeang Memorial Lecture
  • Christmas dinner party
